European Art Days emerged to support young people who are coping with social inclusion issues by uncovering their creative sides with cultural and artistic activities...
Art is basically defined as a creative expression of feelings and thoughts, a reflection of cultural heritage. In this regard, there is a direct connection between art and society. Art has social functions such as educating, awareness-raising, thought- provoking, integration, determining human and environmental realities. Young people’s interaction with art will support them in various ways such as; taking initiatives, becoming creative and entrepreneurial, and will also contribute to societal development since young people are the cornerstones of society.
Young people will develop positive relationships with their peers from different cultures during workshops and this will contribute to overcoming their social barriers...
A total of 45 disadvantaged young people from France, Turkey, Poland and Germany will be included in our project. Young people will be able to express themselves better through culture and art and this will contribute to their social inclusion.
Through art, young people will analyze the problems in their communities, come up with creative solutions and thus be supported in terms of active participation in social and democratic life and in terms of internalizing the idea of becoming EU citizens. In the workshop ”Art for a Greener Future”, participants will be supported to think about environmental problems, and brainstorm on solutions.
With the informal learning techniques integrated in our project, young people will be supported to think about the general problems of Europe and problems in their regions, take part in the field as active citizens and solve problems.
